FAQ about using an iPad as a second monitor

What is it all about?

MaxiVista allows you to use your iPad as a second monitor for your Windows Desktop or Laptop PC.

Actually, this is considered as being impossible as an iPad has no video input that would be required to use it as a monitor. However, MaxiVista transmits the desktop via the wireless network connection with smart compression algorithms that offers a high performance display speed.

Isn't it ridiculous to buy an iPad just to use it as a monitor?

Yes, it would be insane as monitors are available for less than $150. However, if you already have an iPad for any other good reason, MaxiVista offers you a completely new application for your iPad at an incredibly small price.

There are a few other programs that claim to do the same. So, why MaxiVista?

While others enable you to turn your iPad into a second monitor for your Mac PC, MaxiVista is the first App, that offers you this technology for Windows PCs, including Windows Vista/7 for 32-/64-Bit CPUs and even for computers running WDDM drivers. We have invented this technology in 2003 and provide a very matured driver solution.

Other such solutions have been criticized for their poor display performance. What about MaxiVista?

MaxiVista probably has the fastest display performance you can achieve over wireless network. Just watch the video demo to check out the performance.

Does MaxiVista also work from a Mac PC to the iPad?

MaxiVista currently works with Windows XP/Vista/7 only. We plan to release a Mac OSX version as the next step. Subscribe our spam-free newsletter to stay tuned.

Does it take any advantage of the iPad touch screen?

The first version will support to use the iPad as a monitor only. We plan to add remote control capabilities in a later version.

Does it also work with the iPhone?

No, the idea may be fancy but the iPhone display is too tiny to be actually useful.
